Jim Morrison’s Chronicle

Harold Cobert "JIM" - Plon, France, 2014. ISBN 978-2-259-22242-6

I believed that I had read everything about Jim Morrison, that's why I waited to
buy this book. I was pleasantly surprised because the author had the good idea
to let Jim speak in the first person like he was telling his life story himself, his
drinking, the debaucheries, his loves, his successes and his disillusions. And in
the end we believe it! We are carried along by the intimate confessions of the
Lizard King. Even though we don’t learn anything new about the man, the singer,
the poet, we have the advantage of Jim being brought closer to us and more
human. Harold Cobert understood Jim's character very well, a charming man,
who finds himself in Paris disillusioned at the end of his life, angry against
society and his «entourage» and finally against himself. He let himself falling
into the star system trap, and finished by wasting all the beautiful promises that
were offered to him in the beginning ... and the author does this beautifully in
Jim's own voice. That's why I recommend you read it even though you think
you know everything about Jim Morrison.
At the moment the book is only available in French.

  La Chronique de Jim Morrison

Harold Cobert "JIM" - Plon, France, 2014. ISBN 978-2-259-22242-6

on y croit!
Harold Cobert a bien
